The automotive industry is currently undergoing a transformation toward a networked, autonomous, shared, and electric mobility. A powerful 5G network is the prerequisite for the constant data exchange with mobile edge computing required for efficient automation and for automated driving. In the interview with ATZelectronics, Markus Dillinger from Huawei points out which challenges are still to be overcome.
Markus Dillinger is Head of 5G R&D for Verticals at Huawei, responsible for Vehicle-to-vehicle Communication (V2x), Smart Grids, Industry 4.0, and E-Health. Dillinger is also a member of the executive board of the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), and co-initiator of the association headquartered in Munich (Germany).
