Haben Hidden Champions das Erfolgsrezept für CSR in ihrer DNA?

Zusammenfassung

Die globale Gesellschaft steht vor immensen ökologischen, sozialen und ökonomischen Herausforderungen. Um diese gemeinschaftlich anzugehen, haben die Vereinten Nationen im September 2015 siebzehn Ziele für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung formuliert („Sustainable Development Goals“, kurz SDGs). Unternehmen spielen dabei eine zentrale Rolle, denn sie haben einen immer größer werdenden Einfluss auf die Gesellschaft und ihre Institutionen und sind einer der wesentlichen Verursacher einer negativen nachhaltigen Entwicklung (beispielsweise durch Emissionen oder ausbeuterische Praktiken). Unternehmen können jedoch auch ein Katalysator für eine positive Entwicklung sein. Sie können ihre Ressourcen und Expertise einsetzen, um gezielt mitzuhelfen, soziale und ökologische Ziele zu erreichen. Insbesondere die innovationsstarken Hidden Champions mit ihren fokussierten Geschäftsmodellen, Hochleistungsmitarbeitern, starken Führungspersönlichkeiten und kooperationsfreudigen Netzwerken haben das Potenzial, einen wesentlichen Beitrag zu den Nachhaltigkeitszielen zu leisten. Der Artikel geht zuerst darauf ein, wie sich die Anspruchshaltung der Gesellschaft an ein unternehmerisches Engagement für Nachhaltigkeit gewandelt hat, um dann aufzuzeigen, wie a) ein erfolgreiches Engagement ausgestaltet sein muss, b) warum Hidden Champions ein besonderes Potenzial zur erfolgreichen Ausgestaltung haben und c) warum dies wiederum auch aus ökonomischer Perspektive einen Gewinn für Hidden Champions darstellen könnte.
