For manufacturers who build only a small number of vehicles, development costs are the most important issue. This also affects ECU developments more and more, as the requirements are continuously rising. The reuse of existing electronic control units is in most cases not possible for legal reasons. So what to do? Individual solutions are still too expensive. CoSyst wanted to solve this dilemma and developed a scalable and universally applicable electronic control unit platform, which reduces development tasks as far as possible to the implementation of the functionality. The individualised agricultural and commercial vehicles sector profits from this approach and this can also be applied, for example, to electric vehicles, which are currently in a more iterative development process with their small numbers of vehicles. …
