Recently, computers that can handle imprecise information are badly needed. As an approach, fuzzy database systems which allow imprecise data have been presented. In these systems, imprecise data are represented by means of membership funtions. However, imprecise information are usually subjective, and differ among individuals. Since this subjectivity has not been considered, the users could not use the imprecise data stored in the conventional systems effectively. In this paper, we present a fuzzy database system which interprets each user’s subjectivity. This system enables users to store subjective data, and each user can refer to the data in the form of his/her subjectivity. Moreover, our system allows the use of non-numerical attributes, consequently enlarging the area of application.
