Abstract

As an emerging industry, the cruise industry has great potential for market development. In particular, the “Belt and Road” Initiative has also brought new development opportunities for it. In recent years, China’s position in the global cruise economy has gradually become prominent. Meanwhile, the development level of cruise tourism economy has also become an important indicator to measure the level of social and economic development of a country or region. The cruise economy consists of many factors, including concentrated economic factors, networked tourism products, glob service targets and diverse cultures. Although the cruise economy prospers internationally, its advancement has mostly been realized through cooperation between neighboring countries. However, the “Belt and Road” developing strategy has promoted cooperation between international cruise port cities and regions. Based on this background and from the perspective of cooperation between cruise-port cities, this paper proposes to explore the ways to: rich products along cruise ship routes, expand the inbound and outbound tourist markets of cruise ships, improve the level of cruise-port service, and improve the performance of cruise ship economy. It starts from discussing the status quo, problems and their causes of this topic, then seek ways to make break through on the approaches and policies of cooperation between international cruise-port cities.
