The newly developed radiometric instruments, such as pyrheliometer, pyranometer, net pyrradiometer, and digital radiation recorder excel the old ones in use in their considerably improved manufacturing materials and technology as well as the accuracy in measurements. The tracker of the pyrheliometer (equatorial mounting) has the advantages of having a high degree of accuracy, being rid of the need for an AC (power) source, and being a device of low DC-power consumption. It is believed that the use of the apparatus in radiation-observing statins in China will improve the quality of the observational information on radiation to a considerable extent.
