Abstract

In this chapter, we’re going to take you through some key milestones of both AI and UX, pointing out lessons we take from the formation of the two fields. While the histories of AI and UX can fill entire volumes of their own, we will focus on specific portions of each.

For instance, the verb “to walk” follows a regular structure: I walk, you walk, she walks, we walk, and they walk. The verb “to be” however is highly irregular: I am, you are, he is, we are, and they are. In many languages, high-frequency verbs are irregular in their construction and usage.
