An Institutional Perspective: How Gatekeepers on a Higher Education Interact for the Organization of Access

Abstract

Der Artikel geht auf die Komplexität der Barrierefreiheit an Hochschuleinrichtungen ein und konzentriert sich auf die Rolle der Gatekeeper, die den Zugang für Studierende mit Behinderungen verwalten. Es identifiziert zentrale Herausforderungen wie nicht geteilte Definitionen von Zugänglichkeit, fehlende Werkzeuge zur Dokumentation von Erfahrungen, ineffektive Rückkopplungsschleifen und eine wirkungsbasierte Priorisierung von Zugriffsanfragen. Die Studie basiert auf eingehenden Interviews mit Torhütern an einer türkischen Hochschule und zeigt die Notwendigkeit besserer kollaborativer Systeme zur Unterstützung eines aktienorientierten Zugangs auf. Die Autoren schlagen mehrere innovative Lösungen vor, darunter einen Raum zur Definition eines unvoreingenommenen Zugangs, eine campusweite Sammlung zugriffsbezogener Maßnahmen, Werkzeuge zur Erstellung dynamischer Inhalte und eine verbesserte Dokumentation und Archivierung von Zugriffsbemühungen. Die Ergebnisse bieten wertvolle Erkenntnisse zur Verbesserung der Zugänglichkeit und Inklusion im Hochschulbereich und darüber hinaus.
