Aspects of the Overall Integration

Starting from the integration of the classification methods discussed in the last chapter, we consider below the additional integration of the construction and simulation methods indicated in namely skeletal construction, the propose-and-revise strategy for configuration, a simple form of the least-commitment strategy, case-comparing construction and single-phase simulation. The common feature of these methods is that they all fit in with the simple basic conception described in Sect. 12.2, in which all objects of the domain are named explicitly. In our opinion the integration of more powerful construction is problematical on account of the increasing complexity, so that the coupling of independent shells may be preferable.
