The evaluation of sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit activities is often used by physiotherapists in patients with neurological and musculoskeletal disorders and it is essential in identifying movement problems. There are different methodologies used to describe the stand-to-sit activity and its evaluation is not standardized, which makes difficult the practical application of resources on clinical observation. The use of Expert Systems able to aid in systematizing the decision making process can contribute significantly to the professional in their practice. Two Expert Systems were implemented on this study through the Expert Sinta Shell. Each system generates a number of questions, functioning as a guide for the physiotherapist and supporting to standardize the evaluation. The ES’s were assessed by 12 physiotherapists experts in the area through questionnaires with items related to their characteristics and were considered useful in clinical practice.
