Global interdependencies have made supply chains vulnerable to disruption and risk, and not just recently. But for some time now, supply chains in the automotive industry in particular have had to withstand many challenges – from the Corona crisis to supply bottlenecks for semiconductor chips and the Ukraine war to rising raw material prices. In addition, the increasing electrification of mobility will further intensify supply dependencies in the future. The automotive and transportation industries are therefore under immense pressure to make their supply chains more robust, transparent and sustainable, and to exercise more control over them. It is now more critical than ever for players to rethink their transportation and risk management and create resilient supply chains. Many OEMs may be forced to curtail their own production and move away from lean inventory and just-in-time manufacturing. Find out how automotive OEMs and suppliers can make their supply chains more resilient in our dossier.

Because collaboration between all those involved along the value chain is to a high degree asymmetrical, a radical change in direction is now necessary.
