Zusammenfassung

Flugzeuge sind rund 120 Jahre nach ihrer Erfindung eine etablierte Technologie. Die eigentliche Komplexität in der Luftfahrt beruht nicht in der Beherrschung der Maschinen – auch wenn es bei der Einführung neuer Flugzeugtypen gelegentlich zu tragischen Unfällen kommt. Die Komplexität beruht vielmehr auf den vielen Rädern, die jeden Tag ineinandergreifen und auf eine Art voneinander abhängen ist, die von außen kaum erkennbar ist. Diese Räder sind all diejenigen Beteiligten, die dafür Sorge tragen, dass eine Luftfrachtsendung ihr Ziel pünktlich und ohne Schäden erreicht.
