Abstract

Traditional food supply chains, by their very nature, are centralized and raise a number of concerns. These issues encompass a lone point of breakdown, issues related to product consistency, compromises in quality, and potential data loss. Because of the expanding consumer base and the complicated dairy supply chain have limited knowledge about the products manufactured or handled by manufacturers and handlers. This information imbalance within the dairy industry raises significant issues regarding challenges pertaining to welfare, ecological sustainability and health for individuals. This underscores the critical necessity for an upgraded decentralized supply chain model. Given this context, a strong dairy supply network is required to satisfy consumers’ information needs and grow their confidence in dairy products they consume. This article attempts to show how blockchain technology can be used in the dairy industry. This paper presents a study of the existing blockchain-based frameworks for dairy supply network. The study explores the integrated technologies in the frameworks along with blockchain technology and the various functionalities provided by the frameworks.
