How Scattering Increases as an Edge Is Blunted: The Case of an Electric Field Parallel to the Edge

  • Chapter
Recent Advances in Electromagnetic Theory

Abstract

An excellent teacher is much more than a purveyor of facts. He instills in his students a point of view and a mode of attack, a way of approaching problems that becomes so natural to them that they may not realize until years later that they have imbibed great wisdom. Professor Papas has taught us to go back again and again to the basics, to mine them as the inexhaustible mother lode of insight. He has taught us, furthermore, to seek simple results with simple explanations, and he has helped us build up the confidence and faith we need for this most daring and radical of human endeavors, the hunt for simplicity.
