Mathematical Development of the Complex Variable Boundary Element Method

  • Chapter
The Complex Variable Boundary Element Method in Engineering Analysis

Abstract

In this chapter, the underlying mathematics for the CVBEM will be systematically and rigorously developed. For the subsequent formulation of a workable computer algorithm, two basic approximations are made to the familiar classic Cauchy integral formula; the discretization of the problem boundary and the representation of the exact function by a trial function for boundary integration.
