Abstract
The most productive and popular theories of achievement motivation have adhered to the expectancy-value framework. That is, an individual’s choice among achievement-related activities, and how hard one works at achievement tasks, is thought to be determined by one’s expectancy of success and the value of success. Simply put, what we attempt to accomplish depends upon what we will get and the likelihood of getting it!
