Abstract
Chapter 4 explains how environmental improvement programmes and environmental transition processes and programmes—locally, nationally and internationally—have often excluded working-class people and low income groups, sometimes compounding their disadvantage. This theme is explored in relation to some key environmental issues from street cleanliness to energy justice.
