Auszug
Das Thema Migration hat sich vor allem seit dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert, seit Migrationsflüsse neue quantitative und qualitative Dimensionen angenommen haben, zu einem brisanten und weltweit diskutierten Gegenstand entwickelt. In der Schweiz beispielsweise gehört jeder dritte Einwohner einer ethnischen Minderheit an oder hat einen Migrationshintergrund, d.h. ist Nachkomme von mindestens einem Elternteil aus einem anderen Land als der Schweiz. Migrationsentwicklungen und die daraus resultierenden Konflikte in einer multikulturellen Gesellschaft wie Rassismus und Ungleichheiten struktureller und sozialer Art haben Diskussionen ausgelöst über integrative Funktionen, welche verschiedene gesellschaftliche Sphären zu erfüllen haben.
