Resilienz und posttraumatische Reifung

Zusammenfassung

In diesen Zeilen Primo Levis, Überlebender des Kriegsgefangenenlagers (KZ) und Verfasser von „Se questo è un uomo“ („Ist das ein Mensch?“), werden eine Reihe von zentralen Komponenten und (scheinbaren) Paradoxa der in diesem Kapitel zu behandelnden Phänomene Resilienz und posttraumatische Reifung angesprochen. Wie gelingt ein als – zumindest partiell – wert- und sinnvoll gedeutetes Überleben nach der Erfahrung traumatischer Belastung? Oder anders gefragt: Wie werden Widrigkeiten, extreme Risiken und aversive Lebensumstände bewältigt und darüber hinaus Selbstwert und Handlungsfähigkeit aufrechterhalten bzw.wiederhergestellt?
