Abstract
This chapter provides an overall picture of the phenomenon of social media addiction among adolescents in urban China. Social media addiction is discussed in terms of the severity, addiction symptoms, sociopsychological antecedents, gratifications-obtained, impact, and coping strategies. Theoretical and practical implications of this study are also elaborated. Finally, the limitations of the study are addressed before suggestions for future research are provided.
