Abstract
The basic laws to be applied to a flow in a porous medium are again the continuity relationship and the momentum equation. The momentum principle, expressed by the Navier-Stokes equations, is also theoretically valid for this kind of motion. However, because of the complexity of the boundary conditions (since V = 0 at the surface of every grain of the porous medium), this equation is no longer useful in this form. Some approximations and transformations must be performed.
