Zusammenfassung
Die im Jahr 2013 gegründete Partei Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) hat zu großer öffentlicher Aufmerksamkeit und zur Polarisierung der politischen Debatte geführt. Einher mit dem Auftreten der AfD ging eine zum Teil erbittert geführte öffentliche Diskussion um die Frage nach deren Nähe zu rechtspopulistischen und extrem rechten Positionen.
