Abstract
Fortunetellers have various methods of foretelling the future. One of the oldest is called scrying, or crystal gazing. The crystal ball was originally made of quartz. Counterfeit “crystals” made of glass are reportedly used today by some, but without the symmetry of the quartz crystal, true foretelling is impossible, according to the practitioners of the art. The crystal ball should be oriented with the “c” axis vertical, and by looking down the axis, a “sensitive” individual can observe, in rhombohedral symmetry, three divisions of 120° each, which represent past, present, and future.
