Abstract
The choice of an adhesive for a given situation is by no means the proverbial Hobson’s choice. There is usually, though not invariably, a real choice to be made as adhesives are versatile and the overlaps between their usages frequent. Multiple choice is common for all but the most demanding of applications. It should not be possible to write a computer program into which all the relevant particulars were fed and from which only a single answer would be extracted. If the program were written to produce unique answers to all applications of adhesives, then the programmer would have built into the program at a number of stages, subjective judgments masquerading as objective facts.
