Abstract

We return now to the general situation discussed in Chapter 1, but dropping the distinction between parameters of interest and nuisance parameters; discussion of linear theory will have made it clear that this distinction only enters the picture in the definition of the criterion function and from now on we shall take account of it automatically in this definition.
