Fluoride Glass Optical Fibres

Abstract

The main interest in fluoride fibres is in their optical performance, but the eventual use of fibres may well be determined by their mechanical properties. These place limits on the stresses and strains fibres can endure without breaking, and also the environments in which they can be used with confidence.
