Toyota has unveiled the new modular GA-B platform as a part of its Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) philosophy. It will be the modular foundation for the next generation of small cars.

Toyota has unveiled its GA-B platform, the third new TNGA platform after the GA-C (compact) and GA-K (mid-size) platforms. It has been designed for future A and B segment Toyota models. Due to its variable wheelbase lengths, vehicle height and track widths, it can be used to create different vehicles. The wheels are at the far corners of the chassis, which allows for short body overhangs.

The platform features joining technologies that contribute to high levels of underbody rigidity whilst maintaining a focus on low weight. It also uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and either a torsion beam or multi-link rear suspension. The driver's seat is positioned further back, near the centre of the chassis. The lower seating position, in combination with an adjustable steering column, is meant to provide an engaging driving position. The use of interior space has been maximised.
