Abstract

Das Kapitel "Klimawandel und seine Auswirkungen auf landwirtschaftliche Systeme" vertieft das komplexe Zusammenspiel zwischen Klimawandel und Landwirtschaft, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der zentralen Himalaya-Region liegt. Er beginnt mit der Definition des Klimawandels und seiner Triebkräfte und betont die Bedeutung von Temperatur, Niederschlag, Luftfeuchtigkeit und Sonneneinstrahlung für landwirtschaftliche Systeme. Das Kapitel beleuchtet die Anfälligkeit des Himalaya für den Klimawandel und verweist auf Veränderungen der Temperatur- und Niederschlagsmuster, die zu Bodenerosion, Ernteverlusten und Veränderungen der Flora und Fauna geführt haben. Er diskutiert auch die Auswirkungen auf traditionelle landwirtschaftliche Praktiken und die Notwendigkeit von Anpassungsmaßnahmen, um diese Auswirkungen abzumildern.
