Waymo Integrates Jaguar I-Pace into Its Self-Driving Test Fleet
Both companies are aiming jointly to further the development and design of a self-driving Jaguar I-Pace. In the first two years of production, 20,000 Jaguar I-Pace's are to be supplied for Waymo’s self-driving services.
Electric vehicles equipped with Waymo’s technology are scheduled for testing in 2018. Engineers from both companies intend to refine the technology based on the data obtained in road traffic from real driving situations.
Waymo is developing the best car driver in the world
To date, Waymo is the only company testing self-driving vehicles on public roads with nobody in the driving seat. Waymo CEO John Krafcik is convinced that its software "will develop the world’s most experienced driver". The Google subsidiary’s first autonomous transportation service is scheduled for launch this year.
