Abstract
Today’s business environments are volatile and keenly contested, and even the most unfailingly-successful enterprises are finding it increasingly challenging to deliver superior returns and outperform competitors on a consistent basis; sustaining a high-level of business performance is more uncertain than it has ever been. In order to avoid any hard-earned success being short-lived, companies need to continuously transform so they are prepared for new opportunities and can confidently confront new challenges. A customer-driven enterprise embraces such continuous transformation through its capability to respond rapidly to market changes and disruptions. It effectively coheres its strategy, operations, business processes, governance structure and decision-making capabilities so that it can adapt to continually changing and unpredictable circumstances, endure disruptions to its recognised core markets and create advantages over less customer-centric competitors.
