This chapter summarizes and reflects on the material presented in this book. In particular, the chapter aims to conclude on the relation between Industrie4.0 needs and Semantic Web technologies (SWTs) based on the various intelligent engineering applications (IEAs) reported in Parts III and IV of the book. Concretely, this chapter seeks answers to the following questions: which Industrie 4.0 scenarios are addressed by engineering applications described in this book? Which are the most and least used capabilities of SWTs? Which limitations of SWTs seem important and which alternative technologies can be used to compensate for those limitations? What is the technological blueprint of an IEA and what SWTs are typically needed to instantiate this blueprint? This analysis and reflections lead to an outlook on the future application of SWTs for building IEAs to address Industrie 4.0 tasks.
