Contrasting population declines and drivers of ecological refuge for two range-restricted amphibians

Abstract

Der Artikel geht der kritischen Frage nach, wie ökologische Zufluchtsorte für zwei gebietsbeschränkte Amphibien, Anstisia alba und Anstisia vitellina, im Südwesten Australiens gefunden werden können. Angesichts des rapiden Klimawandels und der Veränderung des Lebensraums sind diese Arten vom Rückgang der Population bedroht. Die Studie nutzt ein umfassendes Überwachungsprogramm, um zu untersuchen, wo diese Frösche trotz Umweltbelastungen überlebt haben. Durch die Untersuchung von Faktoren auf Landschaftsebene und der Vernetzung des Grundwassers zielt die Forschung darauf ab, Gebiete zu bestimmen, die diese Arten in Zukunft am ehesten unterstützen. Die Ergebnisse sind entscheidend für gezielte Schutzmaßnahmen, einschließlich des Managements und Schutzes dieser kritischen Lebensräume.
