This book is a collection of extended versions of papers presented at two workshops on gaze and human–robot interaction co-organized by the editors at the ACM/IEEE Conference on Human–Robot Interaction (HRI). The first (Gaze in HRI: From Modeling to Communication) held in 2012 was focusing on gaze in human and human–robot interaction. The second (HRI Face-to-Face: Gaze and Speech Communication) held in 2013 focused on gaze and speech interaction in face-to-face communication. Initially published in Interaction Studies (14:3, 2013), this volume skips one contribution by Cassel et al. on the prosody of motherese during mother–infant interactions to focus on HRI gaze studies. …
