Abstract

Der Artikel geht auf das entscheidende Thema der Kohlendioxidentfernung (CDR) und die Notwendigkeit ein, negative Emissionen zu erreichen, um die globalen Netto-Null-Ziele aufrechtzuerhalten. Er untersucht die Entwicklung des Konzepts der "Dauerhaftigkeit" in CDR-Standards, vom Schwerpunkt des Kyoto-Protokolls auf der "Dauerhaftigkeit" bis hin zur aktuellen Betonung der langfristigen Speicherung. Die Studie analysiert verschiedene Haltbarkeitsdefinitionen und Managementmechanismen, die von Standard-Entwicklungsorganisationen (SDOs) und Unternehmenskäufern verwendet werden, und unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit eines harmonisierten Ansatzes, um die Langlebigkeit der Kohlenstoffspeicherung zu gewährleisten. Die Autoren diskutieren auch die Auswirkungen unterschiedlicher festgelegter Laufzeiten und Umkehrmanagementmechanismen und schlagen politische Empfehlungen vor, um die Effektivität globaler Kohlenstoffmanagementsysteme zu verbessern.
