In the last decade, the domestic markets of Central and Eastern European countries have been facing severe foreign competition from Western countries, particularly from well-known global brands. Consumers of these countries have been experiencing rapid changes in their values, attitudes and their purchasing behaviour, including erratic switches from domestic to foreign products (Nasierovski, 1996).
