Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel wird untersucht, wie die quantitativ-qualitative Trennung zum Aufbau des mythischen Bildes der Wissenschaft beiträgt. Genauer gesagt, kann man von einer wechselseitigen Beziehung zwischen den beiden Aspekten ausgehen. In gewisser Weise wird das mythische Bild der Wissenschaft durch die Polarität geprägt, aber auch aufrechterhalten. Das Bild lässt uns z. B. glauben, dass das Markenzeichen der Wissenschaft die Fähigkeit ist, Konstrukte zu messen. Die Reaktion auf die gängige Auffassung von Wissenschaft besteht also darin, die Messung als im psychosozialen Bereich nicht anwendbar abzulehnen. Und wir untersuchen, wie die Vertreter der qualitativen Forschung dies bei der Bildung eines bestimmten Bildes von Wissenschaft genutzt haben.
