5. Die theoretischen Fundamente des Wise Home

Zusammenfassung

Angesichts der Komplexität des Wohnumfeldes und der Vielzahl der eine Interaktion mit Technologie potenziell beeinflussender Aspekte, die bereits im konventionellen Zuhause, speziell aber im Smart Home vorhanden sind, erfordert eine Weiterentwicklung einen entsprechend breiten Ansatz. Die aktuelle Situation ist aber nicht ausschließlich suboptimalen Entwicklungen in Industrie und Wirtschaft anzukreiden, auch die Forschung hat in diesem Zusammenhang Aufholbedarf. Denn die einschlägige Forschung war ebenfalls von einer einer Techniklastigkeit bzw. Künstlichkeit gekennzeichnet, die Untersuchung der Phänomene hat in einem hohen Prozentsatz in Laborumgebungen stattgefunden. Um eine nachhaltige Änderung beziehungsweise Verbesserung der Situation herbeizuführen ist also eine Abkehr von technischen Themen sowie eine Orientierung in Richtung Feldforschung notwendig. Anstelle von punktuellen Analysen von Detailaspekten sollte Forschung auf Langzeitstudien aufbauen, um den gesamten Umfang möglicher Einflussfaktoren über längere Zeiträume hinweg untersuchen zu können. Das Resultat ist im Idealfall die Gewinnung eines breiten Verständnisses von Situiertheit [1], also dem engen Zusammenspiel zwischen den Eigenschaften des Wohnumfeldes (dessen physischer Eigenschaften und psychologischer Bedeutung), seinen Bewohner*innen und der vorhandenen Technologie. Diese Form der Forschung hat eine lange wissenschaftliche Tradition in den Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften (wie in Kap. 6 aufgezeigt wird) und hat auch in der HCI durch Strömungen wie beispielsweise CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) [2] an Bedeutung gewonnen, in deren Rahmen unter anderem die englische Erstausgabe dieses Buchs erschienen ist.
