Diel activity of insectivorous bats in response to land-use change in São Tomé Island, Gulf of Guinea

Abstract

Die Studie untersucht die Auswirkungen von Landnutzungsänderungen auf die Diel-Aktivitätsmuster insektenfressender Fledermäuse auf der Insel São Tomé, einem Gebiet mit hoher Biodiversität im Golf von Guinea. Menschliche Aktivitäten haben die Landschaft der Insel erheblich verändert, was zu Verhaltensänderungen der Fledermäuse geführt hat und ihr Überleben potenziell bedroht. Die Forschung unterstreicht die Anfälligkeit von Inselarten für Landnutzungsänderungen und unterstreicht die Bedeutung des Verständnisses und der Erhaltung dieser Ökosysteme für den Erhalt der Artenvielfalt. Durch die Untersuchung der Dielaktivitätsmuster von Fledermäusen bietet der Artikel wertvolle Einblicke in die Widerstandsfähigkeit und Anpassungsfähigkeit dieser Arten angesichts von Umweltveränderungen und trägt zum umfassenderen Verständnis der Ökologie und der Schutzstrategien von Inseln bei.
