Effects of using climate-smart agricultural practices on factor demand and input substitution among smallholder rice farmers in Nigeria

Abstract

Der Artikel untersucht die Auswirkungen klimafreundlicher Anbaumethoden auf die Faktornachfrage und die Substitution von Inputfaktoren bei Kleinbauern in Nigeria. Sie unterstreicht die entscheidende Rolle dieser Praktiken bei der Bekämpfung des Klimawandels und der Steigerung der landwirtschaftlichen Produktivität. Die Studie konzentriert sich auf die Einführung von Praktiken wie minimale Bodenbearbeitung, Fruchtfolge und Agroforstwirtschaft und deren Auswirkungen auf die Arbeitsanforderungen und den Einsatz anderer Inputfaktoren wie Dünger und Pestizide. Die Forschung zeigt, dass die meisten dieser Praktiken arbeitsintensiv sind, was im Kontext der zunehmenden Arbeitskräfteknappheit zu Herausforderungen führen kann. Die Ergebnisse haben erhebliche politische Auswirkungen auf die Förderung einer nachhaltigen landwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung und die Erreichung der Ernährungssicherheit in Nigeria.
