Ein empirischer Validitätsvergleich zwischen Adaptive Self-Explicated Approach (ASE), Pairwise Comparison-based Preference Measurement (PCPM) und Adaptive Conjoint Analysis (ACA)

Zusammenfassung

Die zunehmende Komplexität vieler Produkte stellt hohe Anforderungen an die Verfahren zur Messung von Konsumentenpräferenzen. In praktischen Anwendungen kommt in solchen Fällen häufig die Adaptive Conjoint Analysis (ACA) zum Einsatz. Aber auch rein kompositionelle Ansätze haben sich hier als leistungsfähig erwiesen. Von Srinivasan und Netzer (2011) wurde jüngst mit dem Adaptive Self-Explicated Approach (ASE) ein vielversprechendes, kompositionell arbeitendes Verfahren für die Präferenzmessung bei komplexen Produkten vorgestellt, das in einer ersten Anwendung eine deutlich höhere Prognosevalidität als die ACA aufwies. Als vorteilhaft stellte sich auch das von Scholz et al. (2010) vorgeschlagene Pairwise Comparison-based Preference Measurement (PCPM) heraus. Der vorliegende Beitrag hat die Gegenüberstellung der populären ACA und der beiden neuen, kompositionellen Ansätze zum Gegenstand und diskutiert Ergebnisse eines umfassenden empirischen Validitätsvergleichs anhand einer komplexen Dienstleistung für den Freizeitmarkt. Das PCPM führt bei zwei von drei Kriterien z. T. zu einer signifikant höheren Prognosevalidität sowie einer Halbierung der Befragungszeit.

Darüber hinaus ist kritisiert worden, dass der Befragungsmechanismus der klassischen SE-Ansätze keinen Anreiz bietet, in Bezug auf die tatsächlich bestehenden Zahlungsbereitschaften wahrheitsgemäß zu antworten (vgl. Völckner 2006). Diese fehlende Anreizkompatibilität besteht jedoch auch bei dekompositionellen Methoden, falls mit den hypothetischen Entscheidungssituationen keine monetären Konsequenzen verbunden sind (vgl. Wang et al. 2009).

Bei verbalen Merkmalsbeschreibungen ist darauf zu achten, dass die Merkmale durch ihre zugehörigen Spannweiten charakterisiert werden. Dies trägt dem conjoint-analytischen Verständnis Rechnung, dass die Wichtigkeit der Merkmale durch den möglichen Anstieg von der schlechtesten zur besten Ausprägung eines Merkmals adäquat erfasst wird.

Einschränkend muss an dieser Stelle gesagt werden, dass die in der ACA zur Laufzeit des Interviews vorgelegten Wichtigkeiten nicht den finalen Wichtigkeiten entsprechen konnten, da eine Berechnung der finalen Teilnutzenwerte und Wichtigkeiten eines Probanden in der Sawtooth Software erst nach der vollständigen Befragung erfolgen kann.
