Porsche has presented its second all-electric vehicle. The Taycan Cross Turismo is a crossover model and will be offered in four different performance versions.

The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is 4974 mm long, 1967 mm wide and 1412 mm high. The design, with off-road elements such as wheel arch trims or special side sills, is based on the "Mission E Cross Turismo" design study shown in 2018. The curb weight is 2.3 t.

The interior with its 10.9" infotainment display and additional display for the front passenger is the same as that of the sports sedan. However, the Cross Turismo offers more headroom in the rear. The rear trunk of the Porsche station wagon has a capacity of 405 to 1171 l, while the front trunk has the same capacity of 84 l.

The electric car will operate with a system voltage of 800 V, and the total capacity of the battery with 33 cell modules is 93.4 kWh. Two electric motors on the front and rear axles enable all-wheel drive, and power is transmitted via a two-speed transmission. The entry-level model is the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo with 280 kW (380 PS). With overboost power in Launch Control, it produces 350 kW (476 PS), accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 s. The top speed is 220 km/h.

The 4S Cross Turismo delivers 360 kW (490 PS), with overboost 420 kW (571 PS), and accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.1 s. The 4S Cross Turismo has a maximum speed of 240 km/h. It has a maximum speed of 240 km/h, while the Turbo Cross Turismo with 460 kW (625 PS) and a maximum of 500 kW (680 PS) is 250 km/h fast. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 3.3 s. The top model Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo with 460 kW (625 PS) and an overboost output of 560 kW (761 PS) accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.9 s and also has a top speed of 250 km/h.

As standard, the Cross Turismo is equipped with adaptive three-chamber air suspension including PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) electronic damper control. An additional "Gravel Mode" driving program raises the suspension by 30 mm.

Porsche Increases Rimac Participation

The Taycan Cross Turismo will be launched in summer 2021. Porsche has also announced it will increase its stake in Rimac Automobili from 15 to 24 %. Porsche joined the Croatian e-car company as an investor in 2018.
