Daimler Showcases SUV Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury
The Mercedes-Maybach brand crossover presented at the Beijing Motor Show is an unconventional three-box SUV study. “The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is a totally new archetype of a kind never seen before”, says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer at Daimler AG. The raised saloon on 24-inch wheels is designed to appeal to customers in the Chinese market in particular.
Measuring 5,260 millimetres long, 2,110 millimetres wide and 1,764 millimetres high, the chauffeur saloon features fully reclining rear seats in its light interior, as well as amenities such as an integrated tea set in the wide centre console. The Mercedes-Benz User Experience offers a touchscreen and touchpad on the centre console and touch control buttons in the steering wheel.
Four compact permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors with a total output of 550 kW (750 hp) power the “luxury dream car”. The 80 kWh battery in the vehicle floor should allow a New European Driving Cycle range of 500 kilometres. Rapid charging stations with DC chargers according to the combined charging system (CCS) standard can provide the Mercedes-Maybach with enough energy in five minutes to travel 100 kilometres.
