Experts from a wide range of automotive engineering disciplines came together on October 24 and 25, 2023 in Frankfurt's Gateway Gardens district for the 4th MTZ Conference on Components of Future Powertrains. In 22 presentations and a panel discussion on the topic of artificial intelligence, around 80 participants gained insights into current development priorities and solutions from automotive manufacturers, suppliers and research institutes. In addition, the participants were able to obtain information at a complementary exhibition.
In her opening keynote “Agile working methods in drive development”, Dr. Linda Beck, Head of Virtual Application and Testing with SiL at Volkswagen, explained why development methods must also change as technology changes and how this can be implemented in practice

Stephan Révidat, Senior Engineer XEV System Development Advanced Electrification at Hyundai, presented the requirements and advantages of a concept in which the condition of each cell can be monitored, and individual cells can be replaced as required in his highly acclaimed presentation “Realization of a maintainable traction battery”

In the panel discussion on the role of artificial intelligence in the development process, all experts agreed that the opportunities of the technology outweigh the risks, but that clear boundaries and regulations are necessary to ensure security and protect intellectual property
