Abstract

The article delves into the challenges posed by the low output voltage of photovoltaic panels and the need for high step-up DC-DC converters. It explores traditional boost converters and their limitations due to parasitic parameters and excessive duty cycles. The text introduces various techniques to enhance voltage gain, such as switched capacitor, switched inductor, and coupled inductor technologies. It also discusses the advantages and drawbacks of voltage multiplier cells and rectifiers. The main focus is on a new class of SEPIC-based DC-DC converters with an improved voltage multiplier cell, which offers a high voltage conversion ratio at a low duty cycle, reducing component stress and manufacturing costs compared to conventional methods.
