Abstract

The article delves into the critical role of vinyl-based matrix resins in semi-conductive shielding materials for high/ultra-high voltage cables. It compares the structural and performance parameters of ethylene–vinyl acetate (EVA), ethylene-butyl acrylate (EBA), and ethylene-ethyl acrylate (EEA) resins. The study highlights the impact of these resins on the mechanical, electrical, and surface properties of the shielding materials, offering valuable insights into the selection of optimal matrix resins for high-performance power cables. The research includes detailed characterization methods such as XRD, FTIR, GPC, DSC, TGA, and DMA, providing a comprehensive understanding of the resins' behavior under various conditions. The findings are crucial for advancing the technology of semi-conductive shielding materials in the power cable industry.
