Abstract

The article explores the construction of optimal quasi-cyclic locally recoverable (QC LRC) codes, which are crucial for data reliability in cloud and distributed storage systems. It delves into the properties of QC LRCs, their constituent codes, and the relationship between their parameters, such as minimum distance, locality, and code length. The author presents a new approach to constructing (almost) optimal QC LRCs using constituent codes, showcasing how these codes can achieve high performance in data recovery with minimal overhead. The paper also includes comparisons with other known constructions and discusses future research directions in this field.
