Abstract

The article introduces a highly efficient and lightweight detection method for steel surface defects, leveraging advanced deep learning techniques. The method integrates ODConv and MobileNetV2 to form a robust backbone, ODMobileNetV2, which captures feature information in multiple dimensions. Additionally, the lightweight GSConv is used in the neck to improve multi-scale feature fusion. The spatial-channel reconstruction block (SCRB) further enhances the representation of crucial defect features. The proposed method demonstrates superior performance in detecting various defects on steel surfaces, achieving high accuracy and speed on datasets like NEU-DET and GC10-DET. The article also highlights the method's lightweight advantages with a low number of parameters, making it suitable for real-time applications in industrial settings.
