Abstract

The article introduces a innovative method for enhancing the transparency and mechanical properties of transparent wood. By densifying the cell walls of wood through a TEMPO-mediated oxidation process and then impregnating it with UV resin, the researchers achieved a highly transparent and durable material. This method not only improves the optical transmittance and reduces haze but also enhances the tensile properties and thermal stability of the wood. The article highlights the potential of this approach for developing sustainable and energy-efficient building materials.
