Abstract

The article delves into the intricacies of Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis (LTCA) for profile modified gears, focusing on the significant impact of tooth profile modifications on contact pressure distribution. It introduces a sophisticated LTCA model that incorporates advanced numerical methods and compliance matrix calculations to accurately predict contact pressure. The study highlights the influence of modification parameters such as modification height and length on load sharing factors and contact pressure, offering valuable insights for gear designers. Furthermore, it compares the new model with existing FE and Hertzian contact models, demonstrating its superior accuracy and efficiency. The research aims to enhance gear performance, reduce wear, and improve fatigue resistance, making it a crucial read for professionals in the field.
