Abstract

The article introduces a master-slave-based power reserve control approach for solar PV systems to participate in frequency control. Traditional methods using energy storage devices have limitations in cost and effectiveness. The proposed approach avoids these issues by using a small-rated PV module as the master to estimate irradiance and temperature, enabling accurate power reserve control without additional sensors or complex curve-fitting. This method enhances the stability and efficiency of power systems by providing fast frequency response and reducing the need for expensive storage solutions. The article also discusses the advantages of this approach over existing methods and validates its effectiveness through simulation results.
